Depersonalization: Mind Exhaustion

What could be worse than feeling overwhelmed with fatigue and yet not able to sleep at night? How about not being able to shake that fuzzy feeling in your head, as if cobwebs have taken over where clarity used to reside. Most of all, when will your energy return and where did it go?!?

The answers are very clear and logical.

This overwhelming tiredness is not caused by lack of sleep. The cobwebs are not indicative of an illness. Your energy is still available, ready to reload, any time you are ready.

All these symptoms are caused by an exhausted mind, fatigued by continuous worry and fearful thought. This is merely a habit, a learned behavior that one can quickly unlearn.

This has nothing to do with sleep deprivation or illness. Your mind is tired because your new habit of worry and fear is not giving it a chance to refresh. When the mind does refresh, the cobwebs, the fogginess and the fatigue all lift.

This is not a difficult task once you learn the specifics.

KEEP IN MIND

  1. You may not be able to sleep at night because your body is not tired.
Suggestion: Go outdoors and walk in fresh air. Energy returns and
    sleep cycles do as well.
  2. Learn to turn off an overactive mind.
Suggestion: Through a few simple yet specific mind exercises you can “retrain your brain” to settle down.
  3. Turn off the fear factor.
Suggestion: Learn the facts and only the facts. Dispel the false beliefs through true understanding.
  4. Regain confidence and self esteem:
Suggestion: Stop defining yourself by this temporary intrusion. Find your Adult Voice and use it frequently.

The mind often broadcasts false beliefs. Once you learn to recognize this habit and turn the channel, you are back in control again. The mind refreshes, sleep returns, and energy is restored.

You are not ill. These sensations, although intrusive, are merely fueled by your fears and lack of understanding concerning the condition.

Knowledge is power and with the correct approach, energy returns, the mind refreshes and life returns to normal.

Trust yourself to take responsibility to overcome these reactions. Change the way you think and you will succeed in changing how you feel. It all begins with a thought.
